Overview
GCash is available as a payment method for eligible Anytime Fitness merchant groups that have been onboarded for GCash. This FAQ article provides guidance for merchants on enabling GCash, updating member payment methods, transaction fees, refunds, PayNow payments, and managing member GCash linking scenarios.
1. I would like to enable GCash for my business. What should I do?
- You may enable GCash if your business is part of a merchant group that has already been onboarded for GCash.
- If you are unsure whether your merchant group has been onboarded, please contact your Franchisor for confirmation.
- If you are not part of a merchant group, please contact your Software Provider to enquire about enabling GCash.
2. Will the transaction fee amount be different for GCash?
- Yes. The transaction fee for GCash is different from Visa/Mastercard.
- The GCash transaction fee is fixed and is defined in the contractual agreement between Ezypay, the partner, and your merchant group.
3. Can I pass Ezypay fees on to members?
- Transaction fees are payable by the merchant and cannot be passed on to members.
- However, Failed Payment Fees and other applicable Ezypay fees may be charged to members in accordance with Ezypay’s terms and conditions.
4. How do I update GCash as a payment method for my member?
- The process is the same as updating any other payment method.
- You will need to select GCash as the payment method and follow the onscreen steps provided.
5. What happens if the member does not have the GCash app on their phone?
- When the member scans the QR code, they will be redirected to the Google Play Store or Apple App Store to download the GCash app.
6. Can more than one member sign up using the same GCash account?
- One GCash ID can only be linked to one member under the same merchant group.
- If you attempt to link the same GCash ID to more than one member within the same merchant group, an error message will appear.
- A GCash ID may only be linked to more than one member if those members belong to different merchant groups.
7. What happens if a member unlinks their GCash account from the app?
- Ezypay will not be notified immediately when a member unlinks their GCash account.
- Ezypay will only be notified when a payment attempt is made and fails due to an “Invalid payment method” error.
8. After unlinking, can a member relink their GCash account themselves?
- To relink their GCash account, the member must complete the initial signup process again by scanning the QR code at the gym.
9. What happens when a member’s membership is transferred to a new club?
- When a member’s membership is transferred to a new club within the same merchant group, the GCash token ID will also be migrated to the new site.
- The member will not be required to sign up or link their GCash account again.
10. How do I process a refund for a GCash payment?
- Refunds are processed in the same way as other payment methods and must be initiated through the software platform.
- Unlike Visa or Mastercard refunds, GCash refunds will typically be reflected instantly or within the same day.
- During pilot testing, refunds may need to be handled manually by the merchant.
11. Can a member pay using GCash through the PayNow link?
- Yes. Members can settle failed payments through the PayNow link using GCash, provided GCash is already set as a payment method in the system.
- Members may also replace their existing GCash ID with a new GCash ID if a GCash payment method is already displayed in PayNow.
12. Will the member be notified when a payment is deducted?
- Yes. The member will receive an SMS notification from GCash when a payment is deducted.
