Why is Ezypay moving card transaction fees to a merchant-paid model? Will I now be charged a fee that I did not previously pay?

Customer-paid card transaction fees will no longer be supported as part of Ezypay's response to the RBA card surcharging reforms and will need to transition to a merchant-paid model before the reforms take effect.

Ezypay's card transaction fees are not new fees. They are the existing fees associated with providing card payment services. Historically, some merchants elected to have these fees charged separately to customers. As a result of the reforms, this customer-paid model can no longer continue for affected card transactions, and the fees must instead be applied under a merchant-paid model.

Merchants should review their pricing arrangements and determine how card payment costs will be managed going forward. Ezypay cannot provide pricing, legal or commercial advice and recommends seeking independent professional advice where appropriate.
